Overstatement does not help one's cause--quite the opposite!

Badgers in Britain are being culled because of fears that they are spreading disease to cattle. Animal activists disagree and have been mounting an online campaign against the cull. All fine and well. But overselling the cause by a too-strong analogy...well, that's worse than 9/11!
