Happy Labor Day

And my sympathies if you are in fact a member of the labor force, and therefore have to work on this holiday. Sometimes I think they should just rename all the holidays, "Banks and Post Office Holiday No 1, Banks and Post Office Holiday No 2, Banks and Post Office Holiday No 3," etc.

Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire Kills 146 (1911)

The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory was a clothing manufacturer that occupied the top three floors of a 10-story building in New York. In 1911, a small fire flared up in a dustbin on the 8th floor and quickly spread. Tragically, a number of doors had been locked by management to prevent theft, and fire truck ladders only reached the 6th floor.
